ADR Suggestion: DescriptorArray #103
Description
Discussed in #95
DescriptorArray should be container for holding a set of independent Descriptors, built on scipp.Variables. The class shall extend from DescriptorBase, and implements the following dunder methods (including their reverse operations)
- Add
- Sub
- Mul
- truediv
- pow
- abs
- neg
- getitem
Additionally, the following convenience functions shall be implemented
- Sum
- Trace
Note that we also want to add matrix multiplication functionality to DescriptorArray, but this is currently blocked by scipp not supporting general linear algebra operations. Furthermore, the DescriptorArray is not compatible with numpy methods.
