Installation as an Antigen Plugin

Minion can be installed as an Antigen plugin.

You can safely run Minion as both an Antigen plugin and a Vim plugin at the same time. Both installations will use the same ~/.minion file for configuration.

Requirements:

  1. Install Antigen

  2. Add the following line to your .zshrc:

    antigen bundle edthedev/minion

Be sure to add if after the Antigen source command and before the Antigen apply command:

# Too soon.
source /path-to-antigen-clone/antigen.zsh
...
# Anywhere in here is fine...
antigen bundle edthedev/minion
...
antigen apply
# Too late.
  1. Start a new instance of Zshell. Minion will be cloned into ~/.antigen/repos, and the default ~/.minion will be created if it did not already exist. All minion commands should now appear on your Zshell path.

  2. (Optional) Edit the alias file to enable or disable your preferred minion aliases. Restart Zshell when finished.

    ~/.antigen/repos/https-COLON--SLASH--SLASH-github.com-SLASH-edthedev-SLASH-minion.git/aliases_for_minion.zsh

  3. (Optional) Edit ~/.minion to set your notes directory.

    [notes]
    home = ~/Documents

  4. (Optional) Edit ~/.minion to modify the default editor, templates, and text file extension.

    [compose]
    templates = /Users/edward/.vim/bundle/minion/plugin/../templates
    extension = .md
    editor = vim
