attaching to vscode

I'm having a hard time getting R to attach in vscode with vscode-r. I currently use radian with no real problems, but when I switch to arf I can't seem to get it to attach. The R Language Server seems to spin up just fine and arf doesn't throw any errors that I can see either.

I'm happy to provide any details necessary to help with diagnosis, but for now I'm not sure what to try next or what would be helpful if an issue needs to raised, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

I can't say anything because I don't know what procedure "attaching to vscode" you're referring to.
It might be better to ask your question in the vscode-r repository.

Yeah, I'm sorry for not giving any real details. And you're probably right, it looks like there's been an issue open with the vscode-r extension regarding this since May 2022: REditorSupport/vscode-R#1094.

I don't have a problem when using radian and following the recommendations in that thread and your config documents, I haven't been successful in resolving my issue. To be clear, I think this is a me issue and not something wrong with arf, as I can work with arf with no issues within vscode. The only problem I'm having is because the R session wont attach, i can't interact with anything in the environment through vscode, including plots. I get a httpgd server running at: http://127.0.0.1:63250/live?token= link. I'm just trying to figure out where I went wrong, but thank you for your help and creating such an amazing frontend.

ok, it looks like arf is skipping .First.sys() and .First() hooks during startup. I created an issue #158 to track properly.
