Description
We must better guide our users into creating the right visualizations for their use cases.
Each chart type has different characteristics that aren't well documented today. For each type of chart, users should know:
- What this chart type is and does
- Which use cases is it most appropriate for
- What do they need to be able to create such charts
- What are the available options to customize it to their needs
- What are the best practices for making great charts
- How they can implement certain use case with valuable, realistic examples.
For better consistency between these docs, we'll start from this basic template.
How to do this
- Draft the page from the template. To do that:
- Research (market & competitive analysis, terminology, discuss forum, EUI data visualization docs, etc.)
- Test the product to produce a draft of the page.
- Get reviews and input from the data viz team for completeness and accuracy.
- Do not rush merging changes. Depending on our progress, we may want to release those in batches for consistency and make necessary adjustments to existing docs.
