The goal of this page is to provide what I hope and feel is a less overwhelming introduction to bioinformatics. Here I try to touch on a number of subjects so we are all left wondering about the greater picture a little less. There are already many awesome resources (linked below) that dive deep into the world of bioinformatics, but I found they can sometimes get a bit too specific and/or overwhelming for newcomers to the bioinformatic scene. This page is designed to touch on a number of bigger topics in a bigger picture, more comprehensive way that hopefully can provide a better understanding of the field of bioinformatics as a whole. The goal is also to get a sense of the many different tools and applications that fall under the general umbrella term of bioinformatics.
