Hello Mini 0.14.0 gives MiniPaint a fuller little drawing toolbox.
- Shapes: Line, Rectangle and Ellipse with drag previews, patterned outline/filled options, Escape cancellation and one Undo step per completed gesture.
- Selections: flip horizontally/vertically, invert ink and duplicate an opaque selection with an offset bounded by the canvas. Undo/Redo remembers selection geometry as well as pixels.
- Marching ants: an optional selection-border animation, off by default, static with Reduce Motion and paused while hidden, inactive or sleeping.
- Reliability and cleanup: separate canvas/toolbar/shape/selection/store files; guarded autosave preserves corrupt or newer disk data and keeps failed edits in memory for PNG export. Tool/transform shortcuts, accessible state and import/export focus restoration are included.
The version-one drawing format, 320 × 200 canvas, 20-operation history, PNG export, Scrapbook handoff and desktop-pattern connection are retained. Duplication is opaque: overlapping copies can cover underlying pixels, including white. A full-canvas selection has no room for an offset copy.
Validation includes shape/selection/recovery fixtures, pointer scaling, selection-only gesture observation, animation gates and small-display layouts in all six themes; the complete check suite and exact-source hosted CI; Developer ID signing, Apple notarization, stapling and fresh-extraction Gatekeeper checks. Live Aqua 2× checks covered drawing, transforms, Undo/Redo, import/export focus and the optional border.
Spoken end-to-end VoiceOver, the full accessory keyboard matrix, actual full-system sleep, physical cable hot-plug and a multi-hour Wokyis soak remain open. No new physical Mini pass is claimed. Live GitLab/self-hosted validation still needs an instance. See docs/0.14_VALIDATION.md for evidence and limits.
Requires Apple silicon and macOS 26 or later. Download the signed/notarized ZIP below, or install with brew install --cask emmettl/tap/hellomini. Existing Homebrew users can run brew update && brew upgrade --cask emmettl/tap/hellomini after the tap update.
