Industry and Occupation Coding -

Your job affects your health. Occupational and Industrial Hygienists and Epidemiologist at the NCI are quantifying the cancer risk people face when they go to work. I am working with Dr. Melissa Friesen on various project to help convert raw text into health information.

• SOCcer
• SOCAssign - SOCAssign is a Java based tool for annotating SOCcer results. The idea is that you run SOCcer, when scores don't meet your quality threshold they are filtered and read into SOCAssign for expert annotation. Current work is on making SOCAssign a Progressive Web Application (PWA) that runs completely in the browser. The SOCAssign PWA would not require installation of any software (other than a browser), and data would never leave your computer.
• Statistical Occupational Crosswalks - SOCcer currently works with SOC2010, however, we would like to use data that was coded in SOC1980, or share data with our friends from Canada that use the NOC system, or our friends using ISCO. Crosswalks that can use other codings systems can help bridge the data gap.
