Guidance for ESP32-S3 Korvo 2 V3.1 WebRTC Doorbell Mobile App Integration

Hello Espressif Team,

I am working on a project using ESP32-S3 Korvo 2 V3.1 and the esp-webrtc doorbell sample. I want to implement remote access via a mobile application.
I would like guidance on:

1. The simplest and most reliable way to connect the ESP32-S3 Korvo 2 doorbell to a mobile app over the internet.
2. Recommended signaling server setup for mobile clients.
3. Any existing Espressif resources or examples that demonstrate ESP32 → mobile WebRTC integration
   (iOS/Android).
4. Best practices for STUN/TURN configuration for remote access.

Board details: ESP32-S3 Korvo 2 V3.1, ESP-IDF version: V.5.5.1, using DOORBELL_DEMO example.
I would greatly appreciate any guidance, example projects, or recommended workflow for efficient implementation.

@Noushadali007 Sorry, we are on holidays these days. Currently, you can use doorbell_demo. On your phone, you can access it directly via a browser like Edge or Chrome—no special app installation is required. You can follow the steps in the README for details, following is a simple guide for it.

> wifi ssid psw  --> Use CLI to connect to Wi-Fi or set SSID and password via menuconfig, both are fine.
When connected, it will enter a room generated by the Wi-Fi MAC.
If you want to enter another room:
> leave
> join xxxxxx  --> Use any random room name

Then, on your browser, go to https://webrtc.espressif.com/doorbell and join the same room (after the board has entered).

On board click boot button on use cli to send ring bell command
>cmd
On browser click accept call icon, wait for connection build and video show

Currently, we deploy AppRTC, which includes STUN/TURN support internally (for demo only), so no extra settings are needed. For more details, you can refer to the JS code. If you need any help, feel free to contact me.

Thank you for the update. I’ve already tested both the local and remote doorbell demo successfully. Now, I’d like to integrate my own custom signaling server and a mobile application built with Flutter WebRTC. Could you please guide me or suggest the best approach for this integration?

I think you want to buildup signaling server by your self. There is a simple guide: https://getstream.io/resources/projects/webrtc/basics/signaling-server/ you can either use websocket or mqtt both are OK.

For stun/turn support, you can deploy one like use coturn or use common turn services provide auth info like https://www.expressturn.com/.

Following the typical webrtc buildup flow: https://github.com/espressif/esp-webrtc-solution/blob/main/components/esp_webrtc/README.md#connection-build-flow, it's easy to setup one.

Thanks for the guidance. I’ve already tested the ESP32-S3 doorbell demo successfully for both local and remote access. My current setup for testing custom signaling includes:

1. Signaling server: Node.js

2. Public exposure: ngrok

3. STUN server: Google STUN

4. TURN server: Metered.ca

This works for remote connections, but I want recommendations for a more stable, production-ready cloud signaling setup compatible with mobile clients (Flutter WebRTC). Any best practices or example workflows for STUN/TURN and signaling integration would be appreciated.

@Noushadali007 I am not quite familiar with the server part. If just want to watch and no control use WHIP better and there are many servers support it. If want extra control GPT recommend following server.
As livekit have a SDK livekit_esp32_client on esp32s3/p4 I think you can try it firstly.
