• Check out an individual commit. Right-click any commit, confirm in the dialog, and HEAD detaches onto it: the pill reads HEAD (detached). Double-click a branch pill to get back to a branch.
• Author avatars. An initial beside the username, tinted from the author email. When the author has a gravatar.com photo, the real photo loads on top. Controlled in Settings > Show avatars, and shown in the commit detail header too. One image request per author, session-cached.

• The hash column and the checkout labels read the short hash
• Faster commit opens: a commit's files are read with one probe and parallel git spawns
• Faster tab focus: the worktree digest's diff read overlaps the status scan
