Feature: Educating users on using the archive file format #10035

Problem Statement

Many users are not familiar with the concept of archives and treat them as regular folders. At the same time, archives are a common file format that regular users come in contact with on a frequent basis. This brings up the question of whether there is something we can do to educate users on how to take advantage of this format.

Discussion points

  • Should we display a teaching tip the first few times a user selects or opens an archive? This would have to have a "do not display again" button.
  • Should archives have a banner/info bar at the top when opening them the first few times? This might be less distracting to advanced users and they'll be able to dimiss it as well.

Alternative ideas are welcome
