Meeting Minutes

Milestone & Release Updates

• Version 5.33: One issue was approved; merge and release confirmed for today.
• Version 6.x: A minor release is currently scheduled for this Friday.
• Version 7.0: The project is reporting 80% completion. The group discussed the need to expedite reviews to stay on track for the major release.

Technical & Model Refactors

• Uncollateralized Trades (Allow uncollateralised securities lending trades #4180): The PR has been updated based on previous feedback from Leo Labeis. A final review is required to transition this to "PR Ready."
• Equity Index Enum (Adding EquityIndexEnum as a value in AssetIdTypeEnum #4419): Following feedback that this was too collateral-specific, the group agreed to rename the enum to CollateralEquityIndex and move it into the Collateral model to avoid muddiness in standard economics.
• Cash Price & Transfer Refactor (Revisit use of CashPrice and its underlying components in Cashflow and Transfer #4195): Major restructuring plan to better separate "scheduled" events from "unscheduled" events.
  • Proposing a new Transfer Choice Type to categorize Scheduled, Unscheduled, and ContingentTransfers.
  • Proposing common attributes be moved to a base type for better parameterization.
• Legal Agreement Events (Event model change to support Legal Agreement Documentation Amendment Process #4486): Proposal to extend the CDM event model to legal agreements.
  • Currently, the event model is tied strictly to "Trade States."
  • The new "Agreement Events" would allow the tracking of amendments, party changes, and term changes to agreements using the same logic as business events.
  • Tom Healey noted: It is critical to include "Instructions" in this model so transformation functions can clearly validate how an agreement moved from the "Before" state to the "After" state.

Smart Contract Task Force (Tokenovate Update #4165 )

• High-level summary of the task force’s progress over the last 5 months.
• The team has successfully decomposed the "Reset" process into functional, deterministic "building blocks" (e.g., retrieving FRO metadata, calculating observation dates, computing reset values).
• Next Steps: The group is now determining the best order for contributing these changes to Version 7. Maintainers were requested to prioritize the review of the sub-issues on GitHub to avoid bottlenecks.

New Release Process Requirement

• Shift from Codefresh to GitHub Releases.
• New Protocol: Contributors are now required to add their release notes as comments directly on the PR rather than manually editing the release.md file. Maintainers are responsible for reviewing the quality of these comments during the PR review.

CRWG Kanban Board

• Approved and PR Ready column renamed to just PR Ready, highlighting that the actual work has been done and the PR can be reviewed by a maintainer.
• Approved column description updated to remove reference to the work being undertaken. The Approved column reflects only the fact that the Issue has gone through the CRWG and the proposed change has been approved in principle. The implementation of the change (i.e. the PR) is subject to review by the maintainers, which is the purpose of the PR Ready column.

• @lolabeis @Oscar-Twomey Leo Labeis / Oscar Twomey: Review the updated Pull Request for "Uncollateralized Trades" and provide final approval to move it to the PR Ready column.
• @manel-martos Manuel Martos: Review Alston’s PRs across versions 5, 6, and 7 regarding activity dates and ensure the release notes are accurate for the minor release.
• @Oscar-Twomey Oscar Twomey: Create a diagram or mock-up Pull Request to provide a graphical representation of the Cash Price and Transfer refactor.
• @AdrianJenksD2LT Adrian Jenks: Upload the PowerPoint presentation for the "Agreement Events" proposal to the relevant GitHub issue for community review.
• @AdrianJenksD2LT @Oscar-Twomey Adrian Jenks / Oscar Twomey: Finalize the Pull Request for the "Agreement Events" framework while ensuring it does not impact the existing workflow types.
• All Maintainers: Review the Smart Contract Task Force sub-issues on GitHub to expedite the integration of these functions into CDM Version 7.
• All Contributors: Transition to the new release process by adding release notes as comments directly on Pull Requests instead of manually updating the release.md file
