Tray icon not visible on Ubuntu MATE, or Trisquel #41

@davidhedlund

Description

@davidhedlund

The tray icon for qTox (io.github.qtox.qTox) does not appear in the system tray. However, tray icons for other Flatpak applications, such as org.gajim.Gajim, are showing properly on the same system. This indicates that other software tray icons are working as expected, and the problem is specific to the qTox Flatpak package.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install io.github.qtox.qTox from Flathub.
  2. Launch qTox.
  3. Observe the system tray — no tray icon appears for qTox.

Expected behavior

The qTox tray icon should be visible alongside other running applications in the system tray, similar to Gajim’s icon (a human icon with a gray T-shirt).

Actual behavior

No tray icon appears for qTox, despite other Flatpak applications showing theirs correctly.
