PIC V1.02 — Your photos. Your folders. Your way.

This draft covers changes since V1.01 through commit 1134dcd. See the complete commit comparison for all changes.

Compact sidebar and navigation

  • Added an optional, persistent compact sidebar with an icon-only rail, offering more space for photos. Compact and full sidebar widths are saved independently.
  • Added compact navigation for folders, shared locations and other sidebar sections, with a dedicated Folders overview, section visibility matching and scrollable navigation for shorter windows.
  • Improved sidebar resizing, divider feedback and hover behavior. Fixed clipping, unwanted widening, jitter, context menus closing the sidebar, and restoring the full sidebar when switching modes.
  • Improved compact sidebar alignment and theme support, and made the search field adapt better to narrow windows.

Creative filters

  • Added 15 creative presets: Kodachrome, Faded Matte, Cool Nordic, Cross, High-key, Low-key, Classic Silver, Split Tone, Copper Glow, Rose Fade, Pop Colour, Twilight, Posterize, Solarize and Neon Gradient.
  • Reorganized the creative filter controls and improved the presentation of existing presets.

Library and availability

  • Added All photos, Online and Offline availability filters to the metadata panel. Availability now refreshes when storage is mounted and when reused search results are displayed.
  • Updated local availability before network checks complete, keeping the library responsive while network sources are being checked.
  • Sorted metadata column choices alphabetically and improved the organization of filter options.

Reliability and polish

  • Added a timeout to NFS export discovery so an unavailable network server cannot stall discovery indefinitely.
  • Fixed missing-overlay warnings during rendering, sidebar show-button behavior after switching modes, and several layout and interaction issues in compact mode.
  • Added automated compact-sidebar coverage, including X11 pointer-drag checks.

Linux packages will be added to this draft when release builds are ready.
