Good find. Looks like this might be a race between kglobalaccel and plasmazones starting up, and registering all the global shortcuts. This is weird because i've never hit this, even when I login/logout many times when working on the kwin effect. |

Lovely stuff! I am fairly confident it's fixed now - ten reboots and not a single freeze; unless I am really (un)lucky lol. I appreciate the effort! Any plans on adding the project to Copr repos? |

Hi @fuddlesworth, I think the issue might have popped up again after the updates. Doesn't seem to be as common, but here's journalctl output: Startup without lockup: Startup with lockup: So all in all a 25 second lockup after log-in. |

Also something to note: after this freeze, I cold booted and rebooted multiple times without issues. I experienced some freezes during the weekend, seems to mostly happen when changing kernels (was troubleshooting an unrelated issue). |

This is a tricky one, but might as well document it.
I get seemingly random 20 to 40 second hangs few seconds after logging in to the desktop. This happens only when PlasmaZones is active and I have any amount of programs auto-starting to the foreground (think Discord, Steam, Firefox).
The randomness brings some challenges trying to reproduce the issue; I'd say it happens 20% of the time. I tried looking at several logs, but couldn't find anything conclusive. If I had to guess there is some sort of a race condition happening - when it recovers, all the programs load immediately. Disabling any of the window restore features made no difference.
The logs I provided is all I could get, a big gap between two lines:
17:39:59 pingu plasmazonesd[2698]: Resnap to new layout shortcut registered ( "Meta+Ctrl+Z" )
17:40:25 pingu plasmazonesd[2698]: Snap all windows shortcut registered ( "Meta+Ctrl+S" )
When there aren't issues, the logs look identical but this section only takes a second at most.
Expected Behavior
Session opening normally with auto-starting programs loading in a timely fashion.
