Downgrading/installing firmware for UEFI on Asus laptop not working

I'm trying to downgrade my UEFI since the proprietary UEFI update tool of Asus in the UEFI doesn't allow downgrading from 308 -> 300. As a last ditch attempt, I've been experimenting with fwupdtool and came up with this (no reason as to do this, just hoping it will downgrade it--even forcefully):

You probably want 8 (i.e. System Firmware) -- but I don't think that's going to work if OsIndications isn't writing - and the hardware is requesting capsule-on-disk...

Is there a way to force OsIndications to write? But yes, it needs capsule-on-disk, I suppose--as you said--there's no way to force the downgrade of this. Thank you.
