OuterSpace 0.1.4
Choose how big things look on the virtual display.
Install or update: run OuterSpace-setup.exe. It installs for your user only, in %LOCALAPPDATA%\OuterSpace, without administrator rights, and updates an existing install in place. The installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may warn — choose More info → Run anyway.
New
- Scale: next to the resolution, pick the virtual display's scale (100%, 125%, …) from the ones Windows allows at that resolution. A scale that suits a 1080p screen makes everything too big at 720p; now each can have its own. Your choice is remembered and comes back when you change the resolution or turn the display on again. If it doesn't fit a smaller resolution, the largest allowed scale below it is used.
- The
statustool now tells agents the display's scale.

OuterSpace 0.1.3
Agents' apps no longer get knocked over by OuterSpace guarding your focus.
Fixed
- Apps crashing on the virtual display (Blender with Vulkan). When an agent's window took the foreground and Windows refused to hand it back to you, OuterSpace minimized and restored that window as a fallback, and kept doing it ten times a second for as long as the window stayed in front. An app still starting up, like Blender setting up Vulkan, could crash. Now OuterSpace tries once per focus steal, and never minimizes a window in its first 5 seconds.
- Clicking an agent's window in the taskbar works. Switching to it from the taskbar, Alt+Tab or Start is your choice, and the window now stays in front instead of being fought over.
- OuterSpace no longer mistakes the taskbar or other parts of the shell for the window you were using.

OuterSpace 0.1.2
Your windows always find their way back to you.
After updating, reconnect OuterSpace in the agents you have open (in Claude Code: /mcp → outerspace → Reconnect).
New
- Take a window back: the OuterSpace window now shows the icons of the windows on the virtual display. Click one and it moves to the middle of your main screen, in front.
return_window: a new tool that lets agents give a window back to your main screen, without taking your focus.launchwarns about borrowed windows: apps such as Notepad, Windows Terminal and browsers hand a launch over to the copy that's already running. The window may then be one of yours, with your tabs or documents.launchnow marks it withhanded_off: trueand tells the agent to check it and give it back.
Fixed
- When OuterSpace crashes, the reason is now kept in
logs\stderr.login the data folder, so the problem can be traced. Panics are also written to the main log.

OuterSpace 0.1.1
Agents stay connected, you can watch the virtual display live, and pick its resolution.
After updating, reconnect OuterSpace in the agents you have open (in Claude Code: /mcp → outerspace → Reconnect).
Fixed
- Agents no longer fail with
HTTP 404: Session not found. OuterSpace ends an MCP session after 5 idle minutes and forgets them all when it restarts;outerspace-mcp.exenow opens a new session by itself and retries, so the agent never notices. - OuterSpace no longer hangs when Parsec's driver crashes. Every call to the driver has a deadline, resolution changes are spaced out, and a new Restart driver button brings it back (one administrator prompt).
- The mouse fence now also stops Windows 11's "Ease cursor movement between displays" from carrying your cursor onto the virtual display.
New
- Peek: a window that shows the virtual display live, just to look. Open it from the tray menu or the Peek link while the display is on. Nothing is captured while it's closed or minimized.
- Resolution: choose among 13 modes, from 1280×720 to 3840×2160 at 60 Hz (16:9, 16:10 and 21:9). It applies right away when the display is on and is remembered.

OuterSpace 0.1.0
The first release of OuterSpace: a virtual display for AI agents on Windows 11. Agents open apps, look, click and type there over MCP, while you keep your screen, mouse and keyboard.
Install: run OuterSpace-setup.exe. It installs for your user only, in %LOCALAPPDATA%\OuterSpace, without administrator rights. The installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may warn — choose More info → Run anyway.
First run: flip the switch. The first time, OuterSpace installs Parsec's signed virtual display driver (one permission prompt). Then click Add next to Claude Code, Codex CLI or OpenCode.
