My name is Marius Meulaje Kengmogne, and I am a cybersecurity student at Seneca Polytechnic in Canada currently taking an Application Security Methodology course.
As part of our academic final project, we are required to collaborate with an actively maintained open-source web application community while building a local DevSecOps security testing pipeline.
I selected fider because it is a modern self-hosted collaborative web application with features such as authentication, permissions management, API integrations, and Docker-based deployment, which align well with our application security coursework.
My planned academic work includes:
local Docker-based deployment only
static application security testing
dependency and container security analysis
automated dynamic security testing
secure deployment validation
responsible vulnerability disclosure if any legitimate findings are identified
All testing will be conducted only in a controlled local environment for educational purposes and with respect for responsible disclosure practices.
I would like to confirm whether the Fider maintainers are open to this type of academic collaboration and educational security research.
Thank you for your time, and I appreciate the work your team has put into this project.
Best regards,
Marius Meulaje Kengmogne
