AI Meter shows how much of your Claude Code or Codex usage is left, right in the macOS menu bar, along with when it resets.

Install

  1. Download AI-Meter-Installer.dmg below.
  2. Drag AI Meter into Applications and open it.
  3. If macOS says the app is from an unidentified developer, open System Settings › Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway.

For Claude, macOS asks once to let AI Meter read the Claude Code-credentials Keychain item. Choose Always Allow.

What's in 1.3

  • Switch between Claude (five-hour window) and Codex in the menu
  • Reset time for the current window
  • Refreshes every five minutes, and keeps the last good reading if a check fails

Requires macOS 13 or later on Apple silicon. Free, MIT-licensed, no account or analytics.
