I'm looking for documentation to configure an Alert about "unhandled" issues (for a React Native app = crashes). While I can search for error.unhandled = true in the issues view, I can't figure out how to use this for alerts.

It seems pretty useful for alerts to focus on crashes, so I'm hoping this is possible already and "just" need documentation.

@jzaefferer, this falls under event attributes, one of the alert conditions that you can set. We don't specifically document that particular attribute to avoid having the docs becoming too long (that page is already pretty long in our docs). Here's where you would set that:

Thanks! Then I seem to have a different issue: I don't have that attribute available.

Instead I get to pick from these (self hosted Sentry instance (version 22.7.0 64c6714):

I currently have no explanation for that. So I'm wondering how this dropdown is populated. Could that be a configuration issue for our instance?

PS: I noticed that the project didn't have a Platform set. I've updated that now, but so far it doesn't seem to make a difference.

@jzaefferer Hrm, I did a quick check in our self-hosted dogfooding instance (Sentry 22.12.0.dev0
5d0b682) and I see options similar to what you post with the addition of error.handled and error.unhandled.

I have a loose recollection that those keys are created ad-hoc based on what is actually reported. Based on that (could be wrong), a hypothesis would be that you haven't reported any errors with those values set. I'm not at all confident in this, mind you. Just something to start with.

Do you find the error.{un,}handled keys via Discover?

The error attributes and the handled tag looks fine in Discover and for issue details:

Only Alerts seem to have this issue.

Huh. Yeah, that's weird. I guess the next step would be to find and read the code for the template where this appears and work backwards from there to get to a root cause for why this isn't showing up in your environment.
