What do you want to change?

Hey folks!

My name is Alex, I've been a software engineer for close to 8 years now. Mostly working in the infrastructure/platform space, in particular working on things like k8s, machine deployments at scale and datacentre software etc.

I'm a huge fan of Ghostty, it's been my daily for a few years now and I've been super interested in the work you've all done here!

I'll be honest in that I didn't read the CONTRIBUTING.md before sitting down and having a crack at an issue. But I had a crack at an issue(#10865) via (the now auto-closed) #12953

Why do you want to make this change?

To be honest, I'm mostly looking for community and a place to learn and pick up new skills and knowledge from the talented folks that are already contributing. I'm not super adept at Zig but I'm hoping (and willing) to learn as much as I possible can from a great technical community like what you all have built here.

I picked this issue because I saw it didn't have any PRs open and it seemed relatively small-scoped and easy to pick up as a new contributor
