PRoblems login to Github from Visual Studio

It seems related to many other users and it might be because my account is marked as guest? Where can I change it to Admin? See below what other user faced:

GitHub Extension for Visual Studio version: 2.1.1.0

Visual Studio version: 14.0.25431.01 Update 3

Ever since I have tried, I've never been able to login using the Visual Studio extension. There has always been this red exclamation mark error saying (git:https//github.com) which doesn't really explain to me what exactly is going on. It's not a username or password issue as I have tried making a fresh username for it, also its my understanding that if it was so, I would have the incorrect username/pw prompt.

I've tried uninstalling then reinstalling to no avail.

Hi @vpradel - oh no, it's this error again. We've never been able to reproduce this locally so we're not sure what's causing it. Could you send us your log file from %localappdata%\GitHubVisualStudio\extension.log?

One thing you could try to do to fix this is:

• Close Visual Studio
• Go "Manage Windows Credentials" from your Start menu, and under "Windows Credentials" delete anything that has "github" in it
• Delete %localappdata%\GitHubVisualStudio\ghfvs.connections
