Why:

While both terms describe the same concept, “transitive dependency” is more commonly used, and the term “transient dependency” may lead to confusion for some audiences.

See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transitive_dependency and dependabot/dependabot-core#13456

Check off the following:

  • A subject matter expert (SME) has reviewed the technical accuracy of the content in this PR. In most cases, the author can be the SME. Open source contributions may require an SME review from GitHub staff.
  • The changes in this PR meet the docs fundamentals that are required for all content.
  • All CI checks are passing and the changes look good in the review environment.

As described in dependabot/dependabot-core#13456, `transient` != `transitive` which can cause confusion

@yeikel This is a pretty small change and Copilot agrees with you, so I'm going to accept it without trying to get a third opinion.
