I regularly see people starring my forks...
I'm not entirely certain why they've done this, but I'm fairly confident it isn't what they want to do.
Yes, I could probably archive my forks more actively.
No, I don't want to delete them -- they have branches that are generally not merged into the upstreams.
The cost of archiving + unarchiving is sufficiently high, and people can still star an archived repository, so I don't think it'd help.
I have a couple of kinds of repositories:
Ideally most of the stars on this repository should actually be here:
Fwiw, my pinned repositories have check-spelling higher than spelling:
For jsoref/spelling, I already have an about section

I could probably change the readme to also try to discourage people from starring the repository, but I'm not sure it'd help. Note: I still use the repository, it's where I put my miscellaneous scripts that support my efforts to make corrections to repositories, whereas check-spelling is dedicated to identifying them (as opposed to fixing them).
For some of my repositories, I'd love to suggest that people send their stars to the upstream (which may be the upstream of my upstream). And for some repositories, I'd love to suggest that people send their stars to a different repository entirely (especially redirecting from jsoref/spelling to check-spelling/check-spelling).
