I’m subscribed to many repositories. As such, I get many notifications. I’ve found that the easiest way of dealing with them is by turning the subscriptions into RSS feeds, and then filter the “articles” with filters from within my rss client (“Handy News Reader” in my case).
The issue is that some repositories do not use commits properly (they use empty commit messages, or don't include all of the changes that they made in the commit's message) and this makes the commits RSS feed pretty useless.
If every “article” of the RSS feed included a diff (similarly to how a commit.patch looks like) that would make the commits RSS feed A LOT more useful.
