Projects Beta: Consistent behavior for when I add items using a customized view perspective. #7673

One of the first feature enhancements I have in the new GitHub Projects beta is for the consistent ability to add new items that auto-inherit the view perspective I am in. If the view perspective includes repo-specific concepts like milestones or status I expect that new item to automatically have those attributes. Sometimes it works for concepts that are unique to the Projects system (like Iteration value or status label) but for repo-level concepts like Milestones it does not. If I am working through a list of things that all need to be in a milestone it feels clunky to type it out, click milestone, be forced to convert to issue, pick a repo, then pick a milestone. Related, if I am forced to do that it would be cool to select a bunch of draft issues and do this all at once. |

I'll add, as I watch more demos from the conference, it is unclear to me the long-term vision if repo-level concepts like milestones or labels are meant to be used here in Projects. Many of the video examples show in-house GitHub projects making use of their own custom terms and using them within Projects rather than trying to maintain a conceptual link from the project level to the repo level. |
