Filter git history by subtree, and browse repo by commit #682

when viewing the git graph, it would really help in understanding large repos it the repo could be browsed in a sidebar window at the commit selected in the graph, and that the graph could be further filtered by selecting a substree/file

sidebar window to browse the file tree of the currently selected commit
if a folder or file is selected, the commits in the graph are filtered according to the selection, so that only commits which affect that subtree / file are shown

i had a quick look to see if this is already possible, but maybe I missed it
