Issue: Incorrect --cache-path in Documentation Causes SQLite Error 14
Problem
The official Docker Compose example in the Gorse documentation uses:

--cache-path /var/lib/gorse/master_cache.data
This is incorrect — it specifies a file path (note the .data extension) when --cache-path actually expects a directory path.

Error Produced
When following the documentation exactly, the container fails with:

fatal: failed to init meta database
error: unable to open database file: out of memory (14)
Root Cause
Inside the container, /var/lib/gorse/master/ already exists as a directory containing the SQLite metadata files:

When --cache-path points to a file like master_cache.data, Gorse attempts to create a file at a path that conflicts with the existing directory structure, causing SQLite to throw error 14.

Working Configuration
The correct command: should use a directory path:

--cache-path /var/lib/gorse/master
Or, even simpler, omit the command: section entirely and let the Docker image use its built-in defaults (recommended):

Suggested Fix
Update the documentation example to either:

Use --cache-path /var/lib/gorse/master (directory path with no file extension)

Remove the command: section entirely and let the image use defaults

Add a note clarifying that --cache-path expects a directory, not a file path
