Question: Using WeAct RP2350B board for 32-channel logic analyzer
Hello,
I’m exploring whether it’s possible to adapt this project to use the WeAct RP2350B board instead of the RP2350A. The RP2350B exposes more GPIOs, and in theory this could allow upgrading the logic analyzer from 24 inputs to 32 inputs.
My specific questions
Has anyone tried using the RP2350B as the base for this logic analyzer?
Are there any firmware or PIO/DMA limitations that would prevent capturing 32 channels instead of 24?
Are there known constraints with USB throughput or host-side decoding when scaling to 32 inputs?
Goal
I’d like to achieve a stable 32-channel capture setup using the RP2350B board, while keeping compatibility with the existing project framework. Note: I don’t need the full sampling speed of the original firmware (200 MHz). A lower maximum rate would be acceptable if it simplifies implementation.
Any insights, experiences, or design notes would be greatly appreciated!
