Overview

We need an unbiased review of the gather presentation so that we can improve it.

Additional Details

You will be working on guide during this issue, but the purpose of this issue is to evaluate and improve the Gather Examples and Interview Teams presentation.

  • Any notes you have about the guide you will be making should be noted in the issue related to the Guide you choose.
  • Any notes about the Gather Examples and Interview Teams presentation should be in the document you create.

Action Items

  • Create a Google doc, with the name GT: Notes on Gather presentation - YOUR NAME HERE in the Gather Examples folder (customize with your name)
    • Add the link to the document and its name in the Resources section below
  • Add to the notes document as you go, with observations about the Gather Presentation. You will encounter some issues, such as font size or other types of formatting changes, what we are looking for though is material changes to the instructions. For instance, if something could use a screenshot to make it clearer, and it doesn't have one or when you try to follow the steps, something is missing.
    • If while looking at the presentation (not the guide), you encounter any words that you think should be added to our glossary, please add them to the Glossary issue as comments.
  • Review the Presentation for Gathering Examples
  • Pick a guide
    • Note the Name of guide and URL of the guide in the comments below
  • Use the presentation to work on the guide
    • Leaving comments in the presentation if you have a suggested improvement
    • Putting any notes about the guide either in the guide or in the issue for the guide (as appropriate)
  • Clean up your presentation notes
  • Present to the Guides Team

We reviewed Esther's findings so far. Added a note to the notes doc. @Tola-Fame will add a recommendation on how to make it clearer to users of our guidance that if they find an issue related, even if it has no example they can add it to their list. We will review the recommendation at our next meeting.

@ExperimentsInHonesty Update

Progress: I have updated all my findings in the respective issues and moved my issue from Gather Examples to Drafft Template.
Blockers: What does creating a draft template entails?

@Tola-Fame There are projects where you have not indicated if you found anything or not. That is required to move forward with the issue. Please do that. Please do not start on drafting the guide until that is completed.

@Tola-Fame I have left you a note on your issue. It's ok if you can't come to meetings, but please be more detailed in your notes, so we are not left guessing and also not meeting with you in person, so we can get clarification. It's dragging this out unnecessarily hackforla/knowledgebase-content#29

@Tola-Fame I left you a note on the Guide Issue hackforla/knowledgebase-content#29

After you are done with that, it looks like you are ready to move on to the next slide deck and give us feedback on what is missing.

Its called GP: How to Find a Guide that is Ready to Write a Template for

Please note that any slide with a green badge on it, is just a copy from the gather examples slide deck. You can ignore those slides, we just kept them there for reference.

@SheIsBukki Apologies for the late response. Unfortunately. I can't continue with this for now. I've a lot going on. Thank you.
