Known configurations of D-Rats to enable radio communications

ID-51 Plus

ID-51 Plus (Fast Data)

Serial speed in D Rats: 9600 Note: Fast Data only works with another ID-51A Plus or ID-5100A with firmware update)

  • GPS>GPS SET>GPS Select>OFF,
  • GPS>GPS TX Mode = OFF,
  • GPS>GPS Auto TX = OFF,
  • GPS>GPS Set>GPS Out = OFF,
  • DV Set>DV Data TX = Auto,
  • DV SET>DV Fast Data>Fast Data>ON,
  • Function>CI-V>CI-V (Data Jack)>OFF

ID-51 Plus (Slow Data)

Serial speed in D Rats:9600

  • GPS>GPS SET>GPS Select>OFF
  • GPS>GPS TX Mode = OFF
  • GPS>GPS Auto TX = OFF
  • GPS>GPS Set>GPS Out = OFF
  • DV Set>DV Data TX = Auto

ID-31A / ID-51A (Standard Edition)

Serial speed in D Rats:9600

  • DV Set > DV Data TX = Auto
  • GPS>GPS SET>GPS Select>OFF
  • GPS>GPS TX Mode = OFF
  • GPS>GPS Auto TX = OFF
  • GPS>GPS Set>GPS Out = OFF

ID-5100A

Serial speed in D Rats: 9600

  • Function>Data Speed=9600,
  • DV Set>DV Data TX=Auto,
  • D-Rats works both with the GPS enabled and disabled

IC-7100A

Serial speed in D Rats: 9600 Using a USB Cable:

  • GPS>GPS Select=OFF
  • GPS>GPS TX Mode=OFF
  • GPS>GPS Auto TX=OFF
  • Connectors>USB2/DATA1Function>USB2 Function=DV Data
  • Connectors>USB2/Data1 Function>GPS Out=OFF

Using a Data Cable:

IC-9700

  • Set radio mode to DV
  • COM port if NOT the same used by the IC9700 programming software, IC9700 driver creates two COM ports.

The following are two configuration settings provided by Edfel KP4AJ which are known to work with D-Rats:

image image Note: normal settings have been able to QSO FT8 mode (2M) and VarAC (VARA FM) also 2M as well as packet (soundmodem) and WinLink. In case of VarAC and WinLink IC9700 radio settings use FM instead of DV.

IC-80AD

Serial speed in D Rats: 9600

  • DATATX = AUTO
  • GPS-TX = OFF
  • GPS.ATX = OFF

IC-U82

Serial speed in D Rats: 9600

  • ATX = ATXON
  • SPD = SPD96

IC-V82
