Release list
FableDroid 0.6.3 beta
Beta. Playable at the 30 FPS cap on the AYN Thor, with known graphics bugs and only a few devices tested so far.
Update to 0.6.2. Installs over 0.6.2 and keeps your saves (same signing key).
Bring your own game: you need an ISO of a supported Fable II disc. This APK contains no game data (no art, audio, maps or video).
What's fixed
- On-screen touch controls didn't work on some phones, so the game stayed on "Press A to start" (#3, also reported on Reddit with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4). Some phones (e.g. Xiaomi/Poco on HyperOS) have a built-in key device that reports a d-pad; it was mistaken for a game controller and received the touch presses. Now only real gamepads count as controllers, so touch input reaches the game.
- "Unrecognised game executable" now shows a short ID of your game file. Please include it when reporting, so we can identify the version (#4).
Controllers
Bluetooth and USB gamepads and the built-in controls on handhelds (AYN Thor, Odin, Retroid) are supported. The touch overlay hides automatically when a controller is connected (configurable), and buttons can be remapped in the launcher.
Install
- Download FableDroid-0.6.3-beta.apk below and open it on your device.
- First install only: copy your Fable II ISO to the device, open the app, tap Select game ISO, choose the file and wait for it to install.
- Tap Play.
Requires Android 12+, 64-bit, about 7 GB free (plus the ISO while installing). An Adreno 7xx GPU (Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or newer) is strongly recommended. On other GPUs, check the Recommended section under GPU drivers / downloads.
Known issues
- Hero/dog skin morphing (ageing, scars) is off by default; they use base skin.
- Items may show black in the chest "take item" preview.
- Corrupted lower screen when the camera is pressed against a wall.
- Adreno 8xx: texture tiling and occasional "exploding" geometry reported with Turnip Gen8 (#1).
- Occasional slow frames; short hitches the first time an area is visited while shaders compile.
- Uninstalling deletes saves. Use Back up saves first.

FableDroid 0.6.2 Beta
Beta. Playable at the 30 FPS cap on the AYN Thor, with known graphics bugs and only two devices tested so far.
Update to 0.6.1. Installs over 0.6.1 and keeps your saves (same signing key).
Bring your own game: you need an ISO of a supported Fable II disc. This APK contains no game data (no art, audio, maps or video).
What's new
- Automatic GPU driver recommendation. The GPU drivers / downloads screen now detects your GPU and shows a Recommended section: bundled Turnip for Adreno 7xx (tested on AYN Thor), System for Adreno 8xx and other Adreno generations get a matching Turnip download offered as an experimental alternative. Mali, Immortalis, PowerVR, Xclipse and unknown GPUs get a System recommendation, explicitly labeled experimental. Manual driver choices are always preserved.
- The launcher's default driver choice for a fresh install now follows the same GPU detection, instead of always defaulting to bundled Turnip.
Install
- Download FableDroid-0.6.2-beta.apk below and open it on your device.

FableDroid 0.6.1 Beta
Beta. Playable at the 30 FPS cap on the AYN Thor, with known graphics bugs and only two devices tested so far.
Bug-fix update to 0.6.0. Installs over 0.6.0 and keeps your saves (same signing key).
Bring your own game: you need an ISO of a supported Fable II disc. This APK contains no game data (no art, audio, maps or video).
What's new
- Fixed: purple strip along the bottom of the screen. Fable II clears some buffers by drawing a rectangle over them. The emulator assumed these covered all of the GPU's render memory, so the last few rows of a half-resolution buffer kept stale data and reached the screen. Clears now only replace the rows they actually draw. No performance cost: still a steady 30 FPS on the Thor.
Install
