Roadmap

This is the working roadmap. Comment to advocate for items or propose new ones — real-workflow pain reports move things up the list.

Near-term

• declarativeNetRequest skill — dedicated skill for DNR rulesets: authoring static rules, the dynamic-rule cap, converting legacy webRequest logic beyond what /chrome-ext:migrate-mv2 covers today.
• Firefox/Edge first-class polish — --target firefox exists in the lint wrapper; extend the same target-awareness to scaffolding (gecko ID, background.scripts fallback) and store prep (AMO submission flow).
• Side-panel + devtools surface depth — richer templates for /chrome-ext:add-feature side-panel and devtools, including the chrome.sidePanel per-tab API patterns.

Under consideration

• Icon pipeline — generate the 16/32/48/128 set from a single source image during scaffold, and validate actual pixel dimensions (not just file existence) in validate-manifest.py.
• Safari target — xcrun safari-web-extension-converter wrapper in the publish flow.
• E2E harness presets — per-surface Playwright spec generators beyond the bundled smoke test.

Non-goals (see README)

Guaranteed store approval, replacing framework docs, no-code building, automatic live publishing.
