Scrobbling and Resume
Floppy's background service watches what plays in Kodi. It can save resume positions and send watch history to Floppy, with no Trakt and no separate scrobbler.
Turn on Playback → Scrobble: Send watch history to Floppy and the service reports playback through Floppy's scrobble API:
- Start, pause and resume update Floppy's Now Playing card.
- Stopping past the watched threshold logs the play in your Floppy history.
- Your position is saved on pause and stop, and every couple of minutes while playing, so Continue Watching always knows where you are.
If you used the HTTP Scrobbler add-on with Floppy, disable it (or remove its Floppy URL) before turning this on, or every play is logged twice.
With scrobbling off, the add-on still saves resume positions (Playback → "Save resume positions to Floppy") but leaves watch history to whatever else you use.
When a video starts, Floppy looks up your saved position for it and offers to resume. Playback → Resume from Floppy positions sets what happens:
- Ask (default): pause and ask whether to resume or start from the beginning.
- Always: resume without asking.
- Off: never resume.
If your player add-on has already resumed, Floppy leaves it alone.
- Count as watched after: how far through a film or episode counts as watched (default 80%). Playing to the very end always counts.
- While playing, save the position every (seconds): how often the position is saved during playback.
- Played from Floppy, or from a skin that tells Floppy what it's playing (see Skin Integration#telling-floppy-what-is-playing): identified exactly by its ids.
- Played from anywhere else in Kodi: identified from the player's own info (TMDb, IMDb or TVDb ids). For episodes without a TMDb id, Floppy also matches the show title against your Floppy shows.
- skin.ultra's background trailers are ignored.
Plays need a TMDb, IMDb or TVDb id to be tracked.
