How to implement fail2ban plugin?

I tried to implement the fail2ban plugin.
Downloaded v0.8.7. in the Plugin Hub, restarted Traefik. After that I try to configure a middleware JSON accoring to like I did with geoblock (which is working fine).

Here is my middleware code:

    "denylist": {
      "ip": [

But I don't get blocked in any way when applying it to one of my ressources. Do I miss something?

No, I uninstalled middleware-manager after pangolin introduced proper geoblocking. CrowdSec and GeoBlocking is enough security for me.
