The code-style you used in the test does not respect our guidelines, also we'd prefer a single commit or at most a separate one just for the test. I've created the backport PR myself, see #9181.

@mbladel Thank you for the feedback, and sorry for the code style inconsistencies; this occurred because I assumed there was a .idea directory in the 6.6 branch, as in the main branch, to assist with formatting. It might be helpful to add the .idea directory to the 6.6 branch as well.
