Chart is different for 5+ with same options

After upgrading from 4.0.1 to 5.1.0 my chart is different; it is missing some points and the transparency is off.

Top is 4.0.1 and correct, bottom is 5.1.0.

Reproduction; https://jsfiddle.net/timfaase/nu8g4k35/8/ shows a correctly working version of the chart with just highcharts.

Here the dots at the end of the chart are missing for 2 of them and the transparency of the cloud is gone.
