Breaking changes

  • Node.js 22 or later is now required.
  • killPortProcess now rejects when no process is listening on a port. Before, it resolved without doing anything on Unix.
  • ports must be integers between 1 and 65535 (numbers or digit-only strings). Invalid ports are rejected, even with silent: true.
  • the CLI now exits with an error on unknown options and when -p/--port has no value. Single-dash long options such as -port are no longer accepted; use -p or --port.
  • on Windows, established TCP connections on the port are no longer matched, only listeners and UDP bindings.
