IV Studio 1.0.0
IV Studio 1.0. AI films with recurring actors, on your own PC (or your own cloud GPU).
What's new in 1.0
- Help on every page. A How it works button on every page lights up its real controls one at a time. The welcome wizard offers a two-minute tour of the whole app; Settings → About takes it again. The Learn page is gone.
- Check my PC. On first launch IV Studio reads your graphics card, memory and drives (nothing leaves your PC), says plainly what it can do, and sets previews, finals, the prompt writer and downloads to suit. A guided cloud setup connects RunPod, Modal or Comfy Cloud.
- Redesigned. Create (video and image), Settings, Characters, Voices, Lines and Music as numbered step cards. Sizzle, Reel, Sequences, Shinobi and Replace open on animated stages with their main bar centered.
- Find anything. Shots, Projects and the Library group your work by day and filter it by when, kind of shot, who's in it and shape, in a panel that folds away. Long histories open at once.
- Train characters anywhere. Free on your own graphics card (16 GB or more, with Fizgig), or on your RunPod or Modal account: presets, look-only or look and voice, a spending cap, Train more and likeness scoring. Or make a RefMod character from up to six pictures in seconds.
- More control. Pick a shot's sampler and scheduler; keep a resizable live preview of any render over every page, including the ones your AI agent starts.
- Agents. 154 MCP tools, including
scan_hardware,score_checkpoints,list_samplersandmake_refmod_character.
Download
- Windows:
IV-Studio-Setup.exe(unsigned: Windows may say "Windows protected your PC"; click More info → Run anyway). Installed copies from 0.2.1 on update themselves. - Mac:
IV-Studio-mac-arm64.dmg(Apple Silicon) orIV-Studio-mac-x64.dmg(Intel). Unsigned: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway, once. Renders in the cloud. - Linux:
IV-Studio.AppImage.
Needs ComfyUI with the MiniMax H3 models (Setup downloads them) and an NVIDIA GPU, or your own RunPod, Modal or Comfy Cloud account. MiniMax H3's community licence excludes the EU, the UK, South Korea and the USA; use there needs a licence from MiniMax.
IV Studio 0.3.4: a picture on every Workflows card
New: a picture on every Workflows card
The Workflows page gives each tool its own picture, drawn in the style of IV Studio's page banners and faded behind the card's text: a filmstrip that loops into one continuous take for Sequences, a match flaring into film for Sizzle, a record with photos fanned around it for Reel, a blade cutting through film for Shinobi and two masks trading places for Replace. The text reads as clearly as before, the pictures brighten a little when you point at a card, and they stay still if your system asks for reduced motion.
Nothing else changes from 0.3.3.
Windows, Linux (AppImage) and Mac. Unsigned Windows installer: Windows may show "More info, Run anyway" the first time. If you have 0.2.1 or later on Windows (or the 0.2.8 AppImage on Linux), IV Studio updates itself; on a Mac it tells you a new version is out.
IV Studio 0.3.3: keep ComfyUI up to date from Setup
New: keep ComfyUI up to date from IV Studio
Settings → Setup → Updates looks after the ComfyUI on your PC:
- Check for updates shows ComfyUI's version against its newest stable release, and how many of your custom node packs have updates.
- Update everything saves a ComfyUI-Manager snapshot, updates every custom node pack (ComfyUI-Manager included) and ComfyUI, then restarts ComfyUI and waits for it. It won't start while ComfyUI is rendering or has jobs queued.
- Undo last update puts ComfyUI and its packs back to that snapshot and restarts ComfyUI. Packs that aren't git or Comfy Registry folders (IV Studio's own pack among them), which ComfyUI-Manager's restore switches off, are switched back on.
- It works through ComfyUI-Manager; if yours doesn't have it, Setup offers to install it. On this PC's ComfyUI only. Under the ComfyUI Desktop app, which updates ComfyUI itself, it updates the node packs.
- Agents get the same:
check_comfy_updates,update_comfyandundo_comfy_update.
Improved: ComfyUI's own H3 upscaler
On ComfyUI 0.44 or newer, finishes use ComfyUI's built-in H3 latent upscaler: the same model at the same size, faster, without the memory spikes. Setup no longer asks for the LBH upscaler node pack there; an older ComfyUI keeps using it.
Tested
Update and Undo ran on a real ComfyUI 0.44.1 with ComfyUI-Manager V3.42, ending with everything ready in Setup. Not yet seen: an update that actually changes versions (nothing was out of date), and a finish through the built-in upscaler.
Ready-made characters: Tess and Theo (LoRAs)
IV Studio's two ready-made characters, as MiniMax H3 character LoRAs. IV Studio downloads them for you from the Characters page (Ready-made → Download) and checks each file's SHA-256 before using it, so you don't need to fetch these by hand.

Both are invented people, designed and trained for IV Studio: Tess on 2026-10-25 (epoch 40), Theo in IV Studio's own character trainer on 2026-10-28 (epoch 60 of 120). Put them in ComfyUI's models/loras/MiniMax H3/ folder if you use them outside IV Studio, and write the trigger word where the character goes in the prompt.
They are LoRAs for MiniMax H3, so the MiniMax H3 Community License applies to using them with H3, including its territory limits. This is not an IV Studio app release; the app itself is under Releases → Latest.
IV Studio 0.3.2
New: IV Studio on a Mac
IV Studio now runs on macOS 12 or newer, on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
- Download:
IV-Studio-mac-arm64.dmg(Apple Silicon, M1 and newer) orIV-Studio-mac-x64.dmg(Intel). Open it and drag IV Studio into Applications. - First launch: the app isn't signed with an Apple Developer ID yet, so macOS says it can't check it. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway next to IV Studio (once).
- Renders in the cloud. MiniMax H3 needs an NVIDIA graphics card, which a Mac doesn't have, so on a Mac IV Studio is the studio and the cloud is the GPU: shots, hunts, finishes and sequences render on your own RunPod or Modal account, or on Comfy Cloud. The Dashboard and the title bar point you to the Cloud page.
- Pictures and music need a ComfyUI with their models: Comfy Cloud, or a ComfyUI on your Mac (IV Studio finds and starts the ComfyUI Desktop app or a ComfyUI folder in your home folder).
- Updates: an unsigned Mac app can't install its own updates, so IV Studio tells you when a new version is out (↓ Get … at the bottom of the sidebar) and opens this page.
- Keys are kept in the macOS Keychain; data in
~/Library/Application Support/IV Studio; exports inMovies/IV Studio. - The Mac app carries Martin Riedl's GPL static build of FFmpeg 9.0.2.
Built and checked on GitHub's Apple Silicon and Intel Macs: every page of the window, the agent server from the app (147 tools), the unit tests, an edit export, a Shinobi render and a website capture with Chrome. Not yet tried on a person's Mac, and no render has run from a Mac yet. Voices on a Mac run on the processor (slow) and are untested.
Fixed
- Edit export works with FFmpeg 7 and newer (the Mac app's FFmpeg dropped an option the export used).
Windows, Linux (AppImage) and Mac. Unsigned Windows installer: Windows may show "More info, Run anyway" the first time. If you have 0.2.1 or later on Windows (or the 0.2.8 AppImage on Linux), IV Studio updates itself.
IV Studio 0.3.1
New
- SDXL in Create → Image. Any SDXL checkpoint in ComfyUI's
checkpointsfolder works (SDXL base, Juggernaut, Pony, Illustrious, RealVis and other fine-tunes), with SDXL LoRAs. SDXL base 1.0 is an optional download in Settings → Setup. Two 1 MP pictures took under 20 s on an RTX 4090. - MiniMax H3 stills in Create → Image. A frame from a very short H3 render, so pictures have the look of your H3 shots and can star your H3 characters through their LoRAs. Slower than the picture models: two stills took about a minute on a 4090, loading H3 included.
- Comfy Cloud is a third choice on the Cloud page, beside RunPod and Modal. Paste a Comfy API key (the Comfy.org key you saved for the paid prompt writer works too), then Check what works: Comfy Cloud runs ComfyUI's own nodes and the node packs Comfy chooses, and nobody can add packs there, so IV Studio asks it what it has. Pictures and music use ComfyUI's own nodes; video shots need IV Studio's node packs, so expect them not to run there today. Comfy Cloud's API needs a paid Comfy Cloud plan and bills per run on your Comfy account.
- Free in the title bar, next to the GPU and RAM readout: ComfyUI unloads its models, the voice engine stops and the prompt writer's Ollama model unloads, then it says how much it freed. Agents get
free_memory(147 tools).
Fixed
- The title-bar readout refreshes as soon as the window is back in view.
Tested on an RTX 4090: SDXL base, H3 stills with a character LoRA and Free on a real ComfyUI; the Comfy Cloud connection against a stand-in server and the real cloud.comfy.org's key check. A full render on Comfy Cloud hasn't been run yet.
Windows and Linux (AppImage). Unsigned Windows installer: Windows may show "More info, Run anyway" the first time. If you have 0.2.1 or later (or the 0.2.8 AppImage), IV Studio updates itself.
IV Studio 0.3.0: Replace on Viggle Remake
New
-
Replace runs on Viggle Remake. Two modes:
- Swap people: one or two of your characters (your presets, Tess and Theo, or any picture) take someone's place: face, hair, body and clothes.
- Change the scene: say it in plain words: "a snowy winter evening", "remove the dog", "a rainy neon street at night".
The camera, cuts, motion and soundtrack stay. IV Studio does the work Viggle leaves to a person: it puts the video on Remake's canvas, paints a frame of each shot the way the result should look (Qwen Image 2.1 edit, on your PC), checks swapped faces with the face model and repaints them when someone was added or the likeness is off, lets you approve the frames, has your prompt writer write Remake's six-section prompt, and trims each take back to your video. Up to 14 s at a time.
-
In the editor, right-click a clip → Remake this clip.
-
Agents:
remake_paint,remake_use_pictureandremake_render(146 tools). -
Setup lists the two Remake files (21 GB each, optional) and installs Viggle's nodes with the other node packs.
The old engine (OpenJutsu masks) is still there behind Use the old engine at the foot of the Replace page for one more version, and still runs Finish (faces, colours).
Fixed
- Old-engine Replace results from chained runs (Context Loop 0.7) show again.
- Face likeness finds faces in tight portraits like the ready-made Tess and Theo, which also helps take ranking.
Tested on an RTX 4090 against the old engine on four jobs: Remake won a character swap and a winter change, tied an object removal; swapping two people who are both in the shot with each other is still unreliable on both. Remake renders on this PC's ComfyUI (not the cloud yet).
Powered by Viggle Remake (https://huggingface.co/Viggle/Viggle-Remake), on MiniMax H3. Viggle's nodes and prompt guide are Apache-2.0; the Remake weights are under the MiniMax H3 Community License. IV Studio isn't made or endorsed by Viggle.
Windows and Linux (AppImage). Unsigned Windows installer: Windows may show "More info, Run anyway" the first time. If you have 0.2.1 or later (or the 0.2.8 AppImage), IV Studio updates itself.
IV Studio 0.2.11: node packs in one click, any H3 model version
New
- Setup installs the node packs. Settings → Setup → Install missing node packs adds every ComfyUI node pack IV Studio uses to your ComfyUI's
custom_nodesin one click: IV Studio's own small pack plus 20 others, each at the version IV Studio is tested with, with their requirements installed by ComfyUI's own Python (never torch). Packs you already have are left alone. Restart ComfyUI afterwards. Setup now lists every pack by what it's for (Shots, Sequences, Replace, Reframe, SeedVR2), and the README has the full table. Agents can do the same withinstall_node_packs. - Your H3 models count, whatever version they are. If you set up MiniMax H3 from ComfyUI's own templates (the NVFP4 text encoder, other precisions, files in subfolders) or picked your own model in Settings → Models, Setup no longer asks you to download IV Studio's builds again, and every render uses the files you have. The 4-step DMAD turbo LoRA and the latent upscaler are still needed if you don't have them (about 1 GB together).
Thanks to jpeele on YouTube and Tight_Organization54 on r/comfyui for the reports.
Windows and Linux (AppImage). Unsigned Windows installer: Windows may show "More info, Run anyway" the first time. If you have 0.2.1 or later (or the 0.2.8 AppImage), IV Studio updates itself.
IV Studio 0.2.10: Ollama from another container or PC
New
- Ollama from another container or PC. Settings → Prompt writer → Ollama address points the free local writer at an Ollama anywhere, like
192.168.1.20:11434orhttp://ollama:11434. IV Studio also readsOLLAMA_HOST. Write it for me, short films, take reviews and the agent (MCP) tools all use it. An Ollama elsewhere is only reached, never started, so make sure it listens beyond localhost (OLLAMA_HOST=0.0.0.0on the Ollama side). Thanks to porkywood on r/comfyui for asking.
Windows and Linux (AppImage). Unsigned Windows installer: Windows may show "More info, Run anyway" the first time. If you have 0.2.1 or later (or the 0.2.8 AppImage), IV Studio updates itself.
IV Studio 0.2.9: the guide in Learn
New
- The IV Studio guide in the app. Learn opens with Open the guide (PDF): a step-by-step guide with every button pointed out, opened in your PDF viewer. Every page's ? has the same button. Tutorial videos are coming soon.
Windows and Linux (AppImage). Unsigned Windows installer: Windows may show "More info, Run anyway" the first time. If you have 0.2.1 or later (or the 0.2.8 AppImage), IV Studio updates itself.
