Dashboard
The dashboard is the MyGarage home page. It shows a grid of vehicle cards, one per vehicle, with a sort menu and an Add Vehicle button.
Each vehicle is a card; click it to open the full vehicle page.
- Photo with year / make / model and the VIN below it
- Maintenance badge — overdue reminders (red), otherwise reminders due within 30 days by date or projected usage (yellow); no badge when nothing needs attention
- Shared badge — on vehicles shared with you, with a line saying who shared it and whether you can edit or only view
- ARCHIVED watermark — on archived vehicles
- Counts — service records, fuel fill-ups, reminders, and documents
- Recent activity — last service date, last fill-up date, and latest odometer (or latest hours on an hour-metered vehicle)
- Fuel economy — see below. An hour-metered vehicle shows its average fuel rate, for example Avg gal/hr
- Towable RVs — a fifth wheel or travel trailer has no odometer or fuel economy, so its card shows Towed by (the tow vehicle paired on its Trailer & Tow panel) and Avg propane, litres or gallons per month across its bottle refills, with the rate over the last 3 refills beneath it
- Live telemetry — a compact LiveLink panel when the vehicle has a linked LiveLink device
- View Details button
Fuel economy is shown in your own units, set in Quick settings (the gear icon). The latest odometer uses the vehicle's own Odometer unit when it has one. Each quantity is chosen separately, so miles with litres is a valid combination. See Units.
The headline, Avg MPG (or Avg L/100km, Avg km/L), is total fuel over total distance across every tank that was not towing.
- Last 3 tanks: your last three tanks that were not towing, shown when it differs from the average.
- Towing: the towing tanks on their own. When a vehicle has any, the headline reads Avg MPG (not towing).
- Every tank towing: a vehicle whose every tank towed has no ordinary figure, so the headline shows the towing one, marked this way.
A vehicle that never tows gets no towing line. Tanks outside roughly 5-100 MPG (a mistyped odometer or volume) are left out. See Fuel Tracking.
Two controls live in the top bar on every page:
- Search — find a vehicle or a reminder by name from anywhere in the app
- Notification bell — an inbox of overdue and upcoming reminders across all your vehicles. Dismissing an item hides it from the inbox; it does not complete the reminder, which stays due on the vehicle. Dismissals are stored in the browser, so they don't follow you to another device.
Controls above the grid:
- Sort: Sort by Name, Newest First, Oldest First (by model year), By Maintenance (most overdue/upcoming first)
- Select — pick several vehicles at once to archive them in one action
To choose the order the dashboard opens in, set Dashboard Order in Quick settings (the gear icon). It is saved to your account (or to this browser when sign-in is off), so it applies on any browser. A pick from the sort menu overrides it for the current tab: it survives a refresh, but a new tab opens in your Dashboard Order.
Archived vehicles show an ARCHIVED watermark. Hiding an archived vehicle (Hide in main list, the eye icon under Settings → System → Archived Vehicles) removes it from the dashboard and the widget API entirely. Manage archiving from the vehicle page or Settings.
Click Add Vehicle (top right) to open the vehicle wizard.
The grid collapses to one card per row on small screens. On a phone, signing in redirects to a streamlined Quick Entry page for fast fuel, service, and mileage logging; toggle it with Quick Entry on Mobile in Settings → System → Mobile Experience.
Quick Entry offers what the vehicle page does: a fifth wheel or travel trailer gets Propane instead of Fuel Up and no Mileage, and a diesel also gets DEF.
With local or OIDC authentication, each user sees the vehicles they own plus any shared with them. Shared vehicles carry a Shared badge and appear in their own Shared with me section. Family and multi-user management live under Settings — see Family Multi-User.
