Tolls And Financing

Tolls & Financing

Both live on a vehicle's Financial tab: Tolls and Financing are sub-tabs beside Warranties, Insurance and Tax & Registration.

Tolls

The Tolls sub-tab holds the vehicle's Toll Tags and its Toll Transactions.

Toll tags

Add Toll Tag asks for:

  • Country - only narrows the list of toll systems; it isn't saved. On a new tag it is picked for you when your currency (or, failing that, your language) points to exactly one country.
  • Toll System - the systems listed for that country, or Other:
    • Italy: MooneyGo, Telepass, UnipolMove
    • Malaysia: SmartTAG, Touch 'n Go Card, Touch 'n Go RFID
    • United States: E-ZPass, EZ TAG, FasTrak, I-PASS, NTTA TollTag, SunPass, TxTag
  • Toll system name - appears with Other: the name on your tag or account, up to 50 characters
  • Tag Number
  • Status - Active or Inactive
  • Notes

Deleting a tag keeps its transactions; they just lose the link to it.

Toll transactions

Add Toll Transaction asks for the Date, Amount, Location and Notes, and which Toll Tag paid it: any active tag, or None / Manual Payment.

The list can be filtered to one active tag and exported to CSV. Above it sit the total number of transactions, the total amount and the average per transaction, and a Monthly Breakdown table follows.

Tolls are not part of the cost figures in Analytics.

Financing

The Financing sub-tab is a log of what you pay to finance the vehicle. It records payments; it does not work out interest, a loan balance or an amortization schedule.

Add Record asks for:

  • Date
  • Category - Lease Payment, Loan Payment or Upfront Fee
  • Amount
  • Lender - one of your saved vendors, or type a new one and it is saved
  • Notes

The list shows each record and the total.

In Analytics

Financing is shown beside running costs, not inside them: a vehicle's total cost and the garage's running costs leave it out, because it isn't a cost of driving the vehicle. The one exception is the garage PDF report, whose Operating Cost figure adds up every category, financing included. Months with only financing in them don't count toward averages, trends or anomalies.

  • The vehicle's monthly chart has a Financing bar, shown once the vehicle's financing totals more than zero.
  • When the garage's financing totals more than zero, Garage Analytics adds a Financing card, a Financing column in the vehicle comparison and a Financing bar in the monthly trend, and the CSV and PDF exports include it.
