How to use Casebox
- In order to get access to the database, you have to request an account (username and password) from your database administrator.
Use a strong password which you can remember easily (like the first letters of a phrase). Never share your login details with other users.
In case you would not remember your password, click on the link “Forgot password?”. You will receive an email in the account with which you were registered for Casebox, allowing you to reset your password.
- After you complete your work, you have to log out by left-clicking on the image at the right top of the screen, and then on “Sign Out”.
- Overview of the Casebox interface
The main interface of Casebox contains three main functionalities:
Folder tree (left): All contents is organized in one hierarchy. Select a folder to view its contents in the Grid. The Grid (middle): displays the contents of the selected folder. Preview panel (right): displays the selected item in the Grid. It is composed of several smaller block.
- Types of documents
The database allows to register various types of documents. When you click on New in the middle screen, you will get a list of these documents. Each type of document has a specific symbol, as follows:
- Search for records
You can find a record that you registered previously by searching in the “Search Casebox” box. For more advanced searches, use the filters.
- By right-clicking on a case or other record, you will be able to carry out various other functions with regard to that record.
