godot-iap is moving to the OpenIAP monorepo

Starting from v2.0.0, godot-iap is now developed and maintained in the OpenIAP monorepo. This repository will no longer receive updates, bug fixes, or new releases.

What's changing

godot-iap has been part of the OpenIAP ecosystem as a standalone repository, bringing in-app purchase support to Godot 4.x via GDExtension (iOS) and AAR plugin (Android). With the introduction of OpenIAP Spec 2.0.0, we've consolidated all framework libraries into a single monorepo to provide a unified development experience.

This means:

• No more releases from this repo — all future versions (v2.0.0+) are published from the monorepo
• No more issues or PRs here — this repo will be set to read-only once archived
• Existing releases remain on GitHub — previously published versions are unaffected

What you need to do

1. Update to v2.0.0+ — there are no breaking API changes. The plugin name and GDScript API remain exactly the same.
2. Bookmark the new location — all source code, examples, and CI/CD now live at hyodotdev/openiap/libraries/godot-iap
3. Submit issues and PRs to the monorepo — github.com/hyodotdev/openiap

Why the move?

All OpenIAP framework libraries — react-native-iap, expo-iap, flutter_inapp_purchase, godot-iap, and kmp-iap — are now unified under OpenIAP Spec 2.0.0. One APIs, one spec, one source of truth across every platform.

Benefits of the monorepo:

• Single source of truth — a spec change propagates to Swift, Kotlin, TypeScript, Dart, and GDScript in a single commit
• Faster development — work across native modules and framework SDKs simultaneously without waiting for intermediate releases
• Unified CI/CD — consistent versioning and release workflows across all platforms
