Custom domain stuck in "pending" status

When I tried to add custom domain, it's stuck in "pending" status.

I have added the required CNAME entry to my DNS records.

When I clicked the "pending" text, it said "leaflet.mangkoran.com is in use on a Vercel account.". I'm not sure if this is something that I could fix myself. It seems this is related to #155 (comment).

If this is a known issue which needs manual fix by staff, I think it would be better to left this issue open. Or maybe create a new "tracker" issue for known issue :)

Hi, thanks for reporting, screen shots are helpful! I think in this case it may be the "proxy" setting in Cloudflare. We've seen sometimes that breaks things, if you try toggling that off, might fix…let us know!

Are you using Vercel at all for mangkoran.com? If not we may be showing that incorrectly (extra TXT record needed if the project is elsewhere on Vercel).

But yes, also related to needing better custom domain handling e.g. allowing deletes :)

It seems the custom domain is "working" after I turned off the DNS "proxy" setting.

Although after that if I go to the custom domain HTTP http://leaflet.mangkoran.com/ I got "404: NOT_FOUND" error.

If I use HTTPS https://leaflet.mangkoran.com/, it won't even load.

For root domain I don't use Vercel. However I have 2 another CNAME that also alias to Vercel.

Hi! Looks like the additional verification record is required but because of a bug in our ui it wasn't showing properly. I've updated it so if you check now it should show as pending again and show the record you need to add. Let me know if you run into any more issues.

Thank you for the fix. I assume it was "fixed" in commit 81ba748. Now it shows the additional record. I've added the records to my DNS console.

I've confirmed the DNS records have been applied by checking with dig.

However it's still showing "pending" in Leaflet.

The custom domain http://leaflet.mangkoran.com/ is still inaccessible.

Thanks @mangkoran for the detail! Looks like the DNS config was indeed correct but it somehow hadn't deployed. Working now! We'll take another look to make sure that happens automatically.

Thanks @bschlagel for the fix. I can confirm the custom domain now works properly (kind of). For Cloudflare user, this also works with "Proxy" mode turned on.

Now I'm seeing another bug where if I click any of the post, it will open the post in the default domain, not the custom domain although the publication site was accessed using it's custom domain. I will open another issue for this :)

Gotcha, I think it may just be you need to set the custom one as the default (little pin icon in the domain settings), let me know if that fixes!
