Constant cursor flickering

I just recently switched to hyperland, and I love it. However, there's a small visual glitch that has been driving me crazy.

My cursor will constantly flicker. Frustratingly, I've just discovered it doesn't show up in video recordings 😅

Here's my system information:

I've tried setting WLR_NO_HARDWARE_CURSORS,1, as suggested in a few places online, but that didn't help.

Let me know if there's any particular logs or other debugging information that would be helpful!

I've done a search for similar issues, and only seen things about flickering screens, not the cursor itself.

I'm also on nixos and having the same issue... did you ever find a way to fix this?

I've also found that Claude.ai is surprisingly good at debugging NixOS issues haha

You may want to set cursor:no_hardware_cursors = 1 (https://wiki.hypr.land/Configuring/Variables/#cursor).

Hyprland stopped using wlroots a while ago, so that will have no effect.

worked for me thanks :) no idea why my config randomly broke but at least its not a hard fix
