Is there anything that we can do to help creating an official hyprwm copr repo? Is there anything we can do to contribute? |

Is the normal Fedora release cycle really too slow? In my experience new updates new updates within a few days (haven't youse Fedora since 41) |

The official package is only available for Fedora 42, for Fedora 43 you have to use a copr repo. The recommended copr repo in the docs hasn't received a new build in 4 months. And there are so many other copr repos, as a beginner it would be a lot nicer if there was just one official one from the hyprwm name. |

This was a bit elusive to find so I think it's useful to have it somewhere in the official repo
It's not a bug or anything, just some out of date information that caused me a few hours of problems because I did not pay enough attention to details.
The wiki reccomends this repo for Fedora:
It's a great recommendation but a few weeks ago the repo stopped receiving updates. Hyprland main is in v53.1 and solopasha's is at 0.49.0-7
I hope he's just enjoying some deserved holiday break or something similar, but the fact is, if you try to use that repo and install some DE dot files like I did, you are signed up for a very bumpy ride. I spent a few hours bashing my head at the screen yesterday due to lots of configuration errors and syntax mismatch, only to realize today that I was running an outdated hyprland (my fault entirely for not looking at the package version).
I think most of the linux noobs like me will probably just make the same mistake of following the wiki link and not double checking anything. Learning experience :)
So far, the best option I found seems to be using this fork instead: https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/sdegler/hyprland/packages/
PS.: I don't know much about that repo besides the fact that it contains the rebuilt and updated version of Hyprlan, so as usual, use it at your own risk.
