This is an unsigned development preview. The PKG can be downloaded normally; activating the DriverKit extension still requires valid signing and provisioning.

Development preview: CI-built unsigned PKG

This preview adds a downloadable PKG built by GitHub Actions. The app and driver remain version 0.1.0, build 12, with both arm64 and x86_64 architectures.

The PKG and bundled app are unsigned development artifacts, not a notarized driver distribution. The package places CH348.app in /Applications, but contains no installation scripts and does not activate the extension. DriverKit activation still requires the appropriate signatures and provisioning profiles.

Changes

  • Build universal unsigned app and driver binaries in CI.
  • Package the app at the fixed /Applications/CH348.app location.
  • Reject development profiles, certificate-signed or non-universal input, and app/driver version mismatches.
  • Verify each package by extracting and comparing its files, symlinks and permissions.
  • Upload the PKG and SHA-256 checksum from successful CI runs.

Validation and limitations

The macOS CI run passed all 18 Python tests, protocol and serial-ring tests, the universal build, package verification and artifact upload. The CI package was downloaded and its checksum verified before publication. The source and artifact provenance are associated with idy/ch348-macos#2. Both macOS CI runs passed before merging; the optional Cursor Bugbot review was still in progress and was not a required merge gate.

The latest account check showed the DriverKit distribution entitlement requests as submitted and not yet approved. This release tests the CI-to-GitHub-Release packaging and download flow; it does not establish production installation eligibility. No signing credentials, provisioning profiles or private device identifiers are included. Intel runtime, restart, sleep/wake and sustained multi-device traffic remain unqualified.
