Packaging files

Collections of poses and/or scenes should be packed into an archive- the type of archive is up to you, as long as it's easy for other users to extract. The easiest method to pack files into a single archive is using Windows built-in Zip feature, which can be achieved following these steps:

  1. Select all the files to be archived
  2. Right click on one
  3. Choose Send To
  4. Choose Compressed (zipped) folder

From there you can rename the newly-created .zip file and upload that as part of your pose release.

Releasing and Distributing Files

Pose files are most commonly released in the release channels of the XIV Tools and Crystalline Means Discord servers. Both of these servers require releases to use the format below.

Individual creators will generally release their own pose work on their own websites, tipjar services, or Discord servers; the XIV Tools server is in the process of maintaining a directory of these servers. You can have your server added to this directory by applying as an affiliate.

Things to Take into Consideration

When releasing a pose, try to get a preview image that is well-lit, and displays the pose(s) clearly. You may also want to consider showing the pose from multiple angles in your preview image. It is also highly recommended that you keep your preview image as tasteful and worksafe as possible.

When releasing a pack of mods, consider including individual screenshots for each individual pose in your archive.

The developers of Anamnesis do not support or condone the paywalling of pose or scene files. Anamnesis is a free, open source tool, and as such we believe that files made with the tool should in turn be provided freely. However, we do concede that creating poses takes considerable time and effort, so we do support the use of 'tipjar' services such as Ko-fi as a means to provide fans of one's work a way to say thank you, and timed paywall mods via services like Patreon, Ko-fi or Gumroad.

With regard to commissioned poses, we believe that you're paying for a person's time as opposed to a product.
