📦 Feature Suggestion / Question: Preserve Immich’s file organization model when using folder scanning (e.g., Syncthing) Hi everyone, After testing various ways to back up phone photos directly to the Immich server, I’ve found that using a tool like Syncthing is currently the most flexible and reliable solution — especially for full folder synchronization and two-way syncing. However, I’ve noticed a key difference between Immich’s two ingestion methods:
👉 The mobile upload feature benefits from Immich’s internal organization logic — storing files neatly by date and event — but this is lost when using external sync tools like Syncthing, which only replicate the original folder structure. 💡 Feature Idea:Would it be possible to add an option for folder-scanned files to be restructured or relocated according to Immich’s internal organizational model (as happens with mobile uploads)? Even better: This would provide the best of both worlds:
Thanks again for this amazing project! |

Hello everyone,
Do you plan to develop two-way (bidirectional) synchronization in the future?
It would be really useful if deleting a picture on the phone would also delete it on the server.
Are there any other applications you would recommend that support this kind of feature?
Thank you very much!
