I find I often want to reuse the same VM (same installed apps etc), but I want work on a different set of folders depending on the task at hand.
I.e. when working on project A, I only want to share the folders relevant to project A, not include project B, C, etc.
The highlevel goal is to make it as easy as possible to work securely – i.e. make it effortless to share as little as possible with the VM. (Supply chain attacks are getting more and more common, but when in a hurry we often skip things we know we should do.)
Currently I can open "Virtual Machine Settings" expand the "Shared Folders" and check/uncheck the folders I want for the session. This is cumbersome.
Potential solution
Introduce "Shared Folder Sets"
On the main screen just before starting a VM, add a "Shared Folder Set" dropdown with a "Configure" button
The "Configure" button opens the "Shared Folders" editor, which gains a "Folder Set" concept.
By default there is just a "Default" folder set which works like now
