Makefile is not parallelizable

It seems the Makefile is not parallelizable:

git clone https://github.com/intel/isa-l
./autogen.sh
./configure --prefix=/usr --libdir=/usr/lib
make -j4  #fails
make[1]: *** No rule to make target 'programs/igzip', needed by 'programs/igzip.1'.  Stop.
make[1]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs....
  MKTMP    mem/mem_multibinary.s
rm erasure_code/gf_5vect_dot_prod_avx512.s [...] igzip/igzip_icf_body_h1_gr_bt.s
make: *** [Makefile:2410: all] Error 2

This leads me to believe some dependencies in the Makefile are wrong.

Hi @prosaole. I will take a look at this, but Makefile is definitely parallelizable on native Linux, not sure what's wrong with Cygwin, I have never tried.

I did a new git clone today.

Here is the full failing output (make -j4):

make-j4-log.txt

Here is the full output (make) - which also fails, but for different reasons:

make-log.txt

Some of my gut says there is a race condition which is not triggered on GNU/Linux. Some of my gut says that Cygwin's time stamp resolution is 1s, and that this confuses make. I have no evidence for either.

The second (non-parallel) make succeeds with:

make LDFLAGS=-no-undefined

But causes the resulting binary to segfault:

$ seq 1 | ./programs/igzip -cz
Segmentation fault
